Die cutting is one of the oldest methods of cutting. The die cutting process is done by using a tool, called a die, that has a series of machined knives (steel rules) that are pressed into the bulk product material creating the desired shape.

Die cutting is a very cost effective process when used for medium to large quanity runs. ALC is even 'small runs' capable. The required die tooling is relatively inexpensive and can be reused to generate thousands of parts with little or no maintence.

Some of the more common materials for which the die cutting process is most efficient include, but are not limited to, paper, plastic, rubber, foam, thin foils, and corrugated board.
